What a Wellness Score actually measures
Food, movement and sleep each affect how your body handles glucose. The Wellness Score combines them into one daily number you can act on. Here is how it works and how to improve it.

Most health apps give you a pile of numbers: calories, steps, hours slept, grams of sugar. None of them tells you how your day is actually going. The Wellness Score is our answer to that: a single number, updated as you log, that reflects how food, movement and sleep are working together today.
Three inputs, one number
Food
Every logged meal gets a fit score based on its estimated sugar, fiber, protein and fat, and on how similar meals have affected people with your profile. Balanced meals raise the score; sugar-heavy meals eaten alone lower it.
Movement
Walking, workouts and everyday activity make your muscles take up glucose more easily. Movement after meals is weighted more than movement in isolation because that is when it matters most.
Sleep
Sleep sets your baseline for the day. A short or fragmented night lowers the starting score and makes the food and movement inputs count for more — which is exactly how your body behaves.
What the ranges mean
- Below 40 — low. Your day is working against your glucose. Expect cravings and an energy dip; the app suggests the quickest fixes.
- 40 to 70 — moderate. Mostly balanced with room to improve. Small changes have a big effect here.
- Above 70 — high. Food, movement and sleep are supporting each other. Keep doing what you are doing.
Fastest ways to raise your score today
- Add protein or fiber to your next meal.
- Walk for ten minutes after eating.
- Replace one sugary drink with water.
- Stop eating three hours before bed.
The score is not a grade. It is a mirror — and the point of a mirror is to help you adjust.
Not a diagnosis
Sugar.no is an educational wellness tool, not a medical device. The score reflects patterns, not a measured glucose value, and it is not a substitute for advice from your doctor. What it does do is make the invisible visible: you can finally see why Tuesday felt great and Thursday felt foggy.
